Kiefer Sutherland says he contributed to unannounced Mortal Kombat game
First Snake, now Scorpion? Sub-Zero?
24 star Kiefer Sutherland has been working on his role as Snake in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V for over a year, but apparently that’s not the only video game he’s been involved with recently.
“I did Mortal Kombat, and that’s such a huge game, but it’s not like [Metal Gear Solid 5],” Sutherland told IGN in an interview. Sutherland did not say what his role is in the game.
Developer NetherRealm’s last fighting game, Injustice: Gods Among Us, was released in 2013. Its last Mortal Kombat game was the series reboot released in 2011. The game Sutherland said he worked on might be the one producer of the Mortal Kombat Legacy web series Lance Sloane hinted at during San Diego Comic Con 2013. Sloane said he was working out the best time to launch a new Mortal Kombat movie, and wanted to "sync" it with the release of a new, currently unannounced game.
You'll be able to hear Sutherland's voice in the controversial prequel Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and then later in the main game, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Sutherland takes over the role of Snake from David Hayter, who had portrayed the character in previous games.
