Justice League's Ray Fisher Calls Out Joss Whedon's "Unprofessional" And "Abusive" On-Set Behavior

While HBO Max continues to promote the Snyder Cut of DC's the Justice League, which will feature Darkseid, a cast member has spoken out. However, it doesn't look too kindly on the director that replaced Zack Snyder during production on the original version.

Ray Fisher, who played Cyborg in the movie, tweeted out a video of himself from a Comic-Con panel in 2017 featuring the cast where he discussed Joss Whedon coming on. However, Fisher has now retracted those statements.

A question from the audience during the panel asked the cast about the reshoots and wanted to know if they were filming "Part 2" of the movie. Fisher responded, "Well, if it's a secret, we can't tell you that, first off, right? I think we're just about finished with everything. They've been brief, if anything. Joss [Whedon] is a great guy and Zack [Snyder] picked a good guy to clean up... to finish up for him." The caption that goes along with the tweet states, "I'd like to take a moment to forcefully retract every bit of this statement."

The last sentence is what Fisher's tweet highlights. After the statement, Fisher looked at his fellow actors, but no one had anything to add. In fact, Jason Momoa just stared into the audience while Fisher looked at him. After Fisher released this tweet, the video does seem a little awkward, and it's not certain what prompted the actor to send this tweet out in the first place.

The only person of note to comment on the tweet is Candyman (2020) writer/director Nia DiCosta, who replied with a "face with tears of joy" emoji. As of this writing, neither Zack Snyder, Joss Whedon, nor any other Justice League cast members have commented on Fisher's tweet.

Two days later, Fisher issued a more concrete call out of Whedon's "unacceptable" and "abusive" behavior on Twitter.

Added to the list are Geoff Johns, former DC Entertainment executive who now runs Mad Ghost Productions, the company behind the development of DC's TV shows and Movies, and Justice League producer Jon Berg.

Back in May, HBO Max announced the Snyder cut of Justice League would be arriving to the new streaming service some time in 2021, a re-edit of the movie that some fans have been waiting on for years. While this may seem a bit out of the ordinary, HBO Max already has many extended and director's cuts of various films on its service, and it can be a little tricky to find.
