It sounds like Jurassic World actor Jake Johnson, who played park employee Lowery Cruthers, is not coming back for the sequel.

Responding to someone on Twitter today, the New Girl actor said, "From what I hear Lowery will not be in Jurassic World 2." Lowery, a relatively small character in the movie, was a control room operator and wore a Jurassic Park t-shirt. He brought a comedic factor to the movie that some enjoyed.

Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are returning for the sequel in the roles of Owen and Claire, respectively, but that's all that's been confirmed so far in terms of the cast.

The Orphanage director J.A. Bayona is directing the untitled Jurassic World sequel, while the original's director, Colin Trevorrow, is writing and executive producing it.

Trevorrow recently discussed the film's plot on a high level, saying the dinosaurs will be a parable for the treatment of animals today. This will cover "the abuse, medical experimentation, pets, having wild animals in zoos like prisons, the use the military has made of them, animals as weapons," he explained.

He also also teased that Jurassic World 2's story wouldn't necessarily be about more dinosaurs or bigger and more ferocious ones. Instead, the moviewill be a "different kind of film" that touches on a "much larger story about our relationship with these animals," Trevorrow said.

It's set to hit theaters on June 22, 2018.

Jurassic World is the fourth biggest movie of all time, bringing in $1.6 billion at the global box office. In addition to producing Jurassic World 2, Trevorrow will direct Star Wars: Episode IX.
