Colorado-based game developer NetDevil has announced plans for Jumpgate Episode 2: Attack of the Conflux, a major expansion to its online space simulation game Jumpgate: The Reconstruction Initiative. The expansion will contain a variety of improvements, such as player-owned space stations, a new alien galaxy, a new squad vs. squad combat system, and a streamlined chat interface. In addition, Episode 2 will include new pirating technology and several new ship types.

"Our players have been telling us what they want to see in the game, and we've been listening," said Scott Brown, president of NetDevil. "This new episode will add features they want and revolutionize the Jumpgate experience for players new and old."

The expansion will be free for all subscribers to the game, and it is scheduled for release this summer. For more information about the upcoming expansion, visit the official Jumpgate Web site.

Jumpgate was launched last September by 3DO and NetDevil. The massively multiplayer sci-fi space simulation is set in a persistent online universe where players can join one of three different competing factions and engage in trade, combat, and a variety of other activities.
