Japan and Asia’s arcade scene seems to be going well compared to other regions if yearly shows like the All Nippon Amusement Machine Operators’ Union (AOU) Amusement Expo are any indication. The expo specializes in exhibiting such products as video game machines, photo seal machines, and prize machines.

Konami recently revealed its lineup for the expo on its official website, which consists mostly of games falling under their Bemani line of music rhythm titles. The games that will be shown off are jubeat copious, GuitarFreaksXG2 Groove to Live, DrumManiaXG2 Groove to Live, HELLO! Pop’n Music, Love Plus Arcade Colorful Clip, Quiz Magic Academy 8, Mahjong Fight Club Ultimate Version, and Boku no Densha. Of particular interest to gamers in Asia would be the first three games, as they currently have a solid following in the local arcades.

The jubeat series pits gamers to tap highlighted parts of a 4x4 grid that light up in sync with the songs played, which are usually comprised of the Japanese pop and electronica genre. Three games are already out in the series: jubeat, jubeat ripple, and jubeat knit.

The AOU 2011 Amusement Expo will be held on Feb. 18 and Feb. 19 at the Makuhari Messe convention center in Chiba, Japan. Feb. 18 will be for the media and invited members only, while Feb. 19 is open to the public with a ticket price of SG$16 (1,000 yen) for adults.
