3DO announced today that its interpretation of extreme skiing for the PlayStation 2, Jonny Moseley's Mad Trix, has gone gold and is in production. Mad Trix is the first extreme skiing game for the PlayStation 2, and it features four real-world pros, 10 different courses, more than 150 different tricks, both slope-style and big-mountain gameplay modes, and a soundtrack courtesy of Palm Records. Like most other extreme sports games, the gameplay is based upon landing combinations of tricks, impressing sponsors, upgrading equipment, and winning medals.

"With all the snowboarding games out there it's time there was a video game about freeskiing," commented Moseley. "I'm glad I was able to work with The 3DO Company to help bring a virtual version of my sport to the PlayStation 2 system."

Jonny Moseley's Mad Trix is currently scheduled for release December 26 and will be supported by marketing partnerships with companies such as Yahoo, Chevy Trucks, and more.
