John Carmack's 9-Year-Old Son Made A Video Game; Play It Right Now

Industry veteran John Carmack's nine-year-old son, Ryan, has released his first video game. The game is called Angry Face, and it's a modified version of the classic game Pong.

Ryan Carmack says he coded the game (with Unity) himself, though his four-year-old brother helped with sound design and testing.

"This is the very first game that I've created and I want to make more in the future," he says. "I hope I get a good response and that everyone likes it."

Angry Face includes a "grandma mode" for people who want a slower experience; a "pro mode" is also available for faster gameplay. You can play the game today on PC and Mac for free using the Unity Web Player.

Presumably the game is called Angry Face because every time you connect with the "face" (the ball from Pong), its expressions get angrier and angrier.

Carmack co-founded id Software, and was instrumental in creating well-known franchises like Quake, Doom, and Wolfenstein. He now works as CTO at Oculus VR, maker of the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset.
