During today's Nintendo Indie World Showcase, developer Team Reptile announced that its next game, Bomb Rush Cyberfunk will launch for Nintendo Switch and PC on August 18. It will come to other platforms at a later date.

Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is reminiscent of Jet Set Radio, with a heavily stylized aesthetic featuring bright, cel-shaded colors in a futuristic world. In it, players will paint the city with graffiti, while challenging rival crews within five main boroughs.

The game's Steam description is as follows:

"Team Reptile brings you Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, a future world from the mind of Dion Koster where self-styled graffiti crews equipped with personal boostpacks are battling each other for control of the streets. Start your own cypher and dance, paint graffiti, collect beats, combo your tricks, and face off with the cops to stake your claim to the sprawling metropolis of New Amsterdam."

Players will also explore the city via skateboard, inline skates, or BMX bikes while racking up combos by doing tricks. Style seems to be the main focus of Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, as players are encouraged to earn high scores as they explore the wonderfully vibrant city.

Jet Set Radio, which first launched for the Sega Dreamcast in 2000, has inspired many games, including Sunset Overdrive, and most recently, Hi-Fi Rush.

Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is available to wishlist on Steam and via the Nintendo Switch eShop.
