Sony has released the first trailer for Passengers, the upcoming sci-fi/love story starring Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence and Jurassic World's Chris Pratt.

The characters played by Lawrence and Pratt are passengers on a spaceship that is bringing them to another planet. They are supposed to be in cryosleep for 120 years, but they are awoken 90 years early, while everyone else remains asleep. The story follows Lawrence and Pratt, as Aurora and Jim, as they try to learn why they woke up early. Also, they're going to fall in love, as their spaceship suffers some kind of malfunction. Great timing. The story sounds interesting and the robot-bartender Michael Sheen definitely stands out in the video. Take a look:

"It's just one of those stories that really grabs you," director Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game) told EW. "The script was so smart and funny and clever and it was such a page turner, I couldn't put it down."

"It's perfection," Lawrence added. "After reading it I thought I can't not do this movie because it is so good." Pratt sounds excited, too. "I just thought if this movie gets made with the two of us, with this story and with this director and we can execute this well, I really think it's going to be one of the greatest, most original and compelling epic movies I've seen…maybe ever!"

Tyldum went on to say the love story will be memorable. "Every generation has a big love story--I feel like this is it," he said.

Passengers, which also features Laurence Fishburne, hits theaters on December 21, which is the same day that the Michael Fassbender-starring Assassin's Creed comes out.
