Jeff Goldblum Will Join HBO Max's Search Party Season 5 Cast

Actor Jeff Goldblum will be taking on a recurring role in Season 5 of Search Party on HBO Max, according to Variety. Goldblum will play Tunnel Quinn, a "charismatic tech billionaire who enters a very public business partnership with Dory (Alia Shawkat) on the other side of her near death experience."

Less than two weeks after Season 4 finished airing back in February, the show was surprisingly greenlit for another season. Surprising because, well, without getting into any spoilers--the previous season delivered a cryptic but satisfyingly conclusion to every storyline. But the show coming back to include Goldblum will be worth watching alone, as the actor's kooky charms will be a delicious addition to the show.

He will likely feature prominently, as Quinn's character will collaborate with "Dory fold[ing] her old friends Portia (Meredith Hagner), Elliott (John Early), and Drew (John Reynolds) into the venture as they embark on an altruistic but terrifying journey." This synopsis alone basically resolves the--spoilers ahead--question as to whether the rest of the gang knows that Dory survived a fire that they assumed had killed her. But where the show will head next is anyone's guess.

"Search Party is such a brilliant show," Goldblum said. "What a thrill and a privilege it is to get to be a little part of it! I respect and adore everyone involved with this magical entertainment."

Goldblum's next big project is reprising is role as Ian Malcom in Jurassic World: Dominion, which is expected to finally hit theaters sometime in 2022. A five-minute prologue trailer for it has been screening in IMAX theaters before F9.
