Actor Jason Momoa believes he is a "dirtbag," but he's not putting himself down by characterizing himself that way. He told The Hollywood Reporter that, in his world, the word "dirtbag" means someone who enjoys rockclimbing, getting into nature, and going on adventures.

"I used to live out of my car, carry my world and my rucksack. So, from the climber's point of view, a dirtbag is just someone who's really in nature, who’s constantly on the road," Momoa said as part of a promotional interview for his new travel show On The Roam.

"A dirtbag doesn't mean a dirt-ball or a shit-bag or a f**king filthy person. It just means that I am living in the dirt. Life made simple," he added.

Momoa said he attributes his adventurous spirit to helping him survive in Hollywood. He doesn't really live the dirtbag life any more, but those memories and experiences stay with him. "That's what keeps me rooted and grounded and humble and searching and hungry," he said.

Momoa is known for playing Khal Drogo on Game of Thrones and as the star of the Aquaman superhero series. One of his upcoming projects is the Minecraft movie with Jack Black. He's also a huge fan of the Irish beer Guinness and is directing a commercial for the company.

On The Road premieres January 18 on Max. It's not the only upcoming travel show for Max starring a celebrity, as Conan O'Brien's Conan Must Go series is also on the way.
