Jaedong, Polt among the final eight players at BlizzCon

Evil Geniuses' Zerg tyrant Lee 'Jaedong' Jae Dong and CMStorm's Choi 'Polt' Seong Hun are among the players who have made it through the grueling first round at BlizzCon to advance to the round of eight. They are joined by Choi 'Bomber' Ji Sung, Baek "Dear" Dong Jun, Cho "Maru" Sung Choo, Kim 'Soulkey' Min Chul, Kim 'sOs' Yoo Jin, and Kim 'duckdeok' Kyeong Deok.

JD Lee, still looking for his first major StarCraft 2 championship, was paired up with 4-time GSL Champion Jung 'Mvp' Jong Hyun, and the man who also won the last BlizzCon SC2 title in 2011. As someone who won some of the most prestigious and difficult events in Brood War's competitive lifespan, this is a situation JD Lee is not used to. JD Lee used this motivation to earn himself a 3-0 sweep.

"In Brood War, I have a lot of title wins, but in StarCraft 2, if you think about it MVP is way ahead of me with a lot more success," he said after the match. "As I was preparing for this match, I started from the bottom."

"I faced a lot of losses to Terran's recently, and this is my way of getting back to my own style, finding my niche. I've regained my confidence from the games with Mvp."

JD Lee is now one round closer to inching his way to the finals. He ended his interview with word of confidence we've all come to know.

"I'm going to the top."

The sole non-Korean player in attendance, Sweden's Johan "NaNiwa" Luchessi on team Alliance, was eliminated by first seed Kim. Kim will now play Choi, who knocked out Mun "MMA" Seong Won, in the first match of the Round of 8.
