Prepare to scream and be squeamish once again as Variety is reporting there will be a new Jackass series in the works over at Paramount+. At the end of Jackass Forever, the old team handed down the proverbial torch to the new team of stuntmen and pranksters, and now they get their shot to make their own mark on the franchise.

According to the report, it was the success of Jackass Forever that Paramount Global CEO Bob Bakish saw the potential for a series revival.

"Based off the success of Jackass Forever, we're working with the creators to continue the partnership with a new series, bringing even more ridiculous antics straight to Paramount+," he said. Jackass Forever debuted at the top of the domestic box office in February with $23.5 million.

The film included original cast members such as Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Dave England, Jason "Wee Man" Acuna, "Danger" Ehren McGhehey, and Preston Lacy. It also introduced new members Rachel Wolfson, Sean "Poopies" McInerney, and Jasper Dolphin.

The original series became an instant hit on MTV, but only ran for 25 episodes. It debuted around the same time as the Tom Green Show, another prank-style show for a new generation. Along with Jackass, came spinoff series such as Wildboyz and Viva La Bam, with video games and movies as well. The Jackass stars also participated in this year's Wrestlemania.

Jackass 4.5, a film consisting of extra footage shot during the making of Jackass Forever, is scheduled to be released on May 20 exclusively on Netflix.
