Jack Black Does His Best Thor Impression And It's Amazing

Ragnarok ‘n roll.

Some actors have set up livestreams of their gaming PC builds, others have started podcasts, and then there's Jack Black, who has gone in an entirely different direction. The legendary half of Tenacious D and one-time Brutal Legend roadie has declared that there's a new god of thunder in town, one who is worthy enough to wield Mjolnir, summon the lightning, and do an admittedly great cover of Led Zeppelin's Immigrant Song:

While Black could possibly save Disney a ton of money in the special effects department thanks to his natural ability to fly and cause thunderstorms, it looks like Chris Hemsworth won't have to start looking for new acting gigs just yet. Thor: Love and Thunder is currently filming in Australia, and recent photos from the set of the Taika Waititi-directed film have shown off Thor's new look, which has a very distinct look that harkens back to the character's alternate persona of the extremely 80s Thunderstrike.

Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Sean Gunn as Kraglin, and Karen Gillan as Nebula were also spotted on the set. Thor: Love and Thunder will also see the return of Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, while former Batman Christian Bale will menace the cast as Gorr the God Butcher.

The film currently has a release date of May 2022, and will also see Portman dash Jack Black's dreams of godhood when she wields the signature hammer of Odin's favorite son.
