MC2 Entertainment has today announced that it will release World War Zero: Ironstorm for the PlayStation 2 in Europe in the second quarter of this year. Currently in development at UK-based Rebellion, the game was originally scheduled for release in November--a year after the original PC version of Ironstorm arrived in stores.

World War Zero: Ironstorm is a first-person shooter set in an alternate reality where the First World War never ended and is still being fought in 1964. Players will assume the role of Lieutenant James Anderson who, as part of a coalition, must battle against the forces of the insane Baron Ungenberg, who is attempting to turn the whole world into his own Russo-Mongolian empire.
