Intel to sponsor CPL World Championship
The Cyberathlete Professional League announces the corporate sponsor for the upcoming $150,000 tournament.
The Cyberathlete Professional League (CPL) has announced that Intel will sponsor its upcoming World Championship event, which will be held in Dallas this December. The event is expected to host more than 2,000 players from 30 different countries competing in a Counter-Strike tournament featuring total cash prizes of $150,000. Coverage of the tournament is expected to reach up to 300,000 viewers worldwide.
In addition to the tournament, the event will include a variety of workshops from companies including Intel, Valve, Gearbox, and Ritual. The CPL World Championship Event is scheduled to run December 5-9, 2001, at the Hyatt Regency Dallas. For more information about the event, or to register to attend, visit the official CPL Web site.
