This morning, Infogrames announced two new games designed to be played on nontraditional platforms. A constant theme at Milia is bringing traditional PC content to unconventional hardware. That trend continued in Infogrames' announcement. Its two recently announced games - Actua Soccer Online Manager and Asterix, Runarix - are being designed for play on mobile phones, in-flight integrated systems, Interactive TV, and other platforms not normally associated with gaming.

While the two titles weren't currently being demonstrated at the Infogrames booth, the company's newly appointed CEO, Bruno Bonnell, was only too happy to talk about them. Developed by I.Lights, both games will be accessible from a multitude of digital terminals, and thanks to the increasing proliferation of broadband connectivity, both will allow gamers to connect to each other through different digital platforms, meaning a player with a TV and digital set-top box can compete against someone else with a PC, mobile phone, or even a Dreamcast.

Infogrames expects a complete and immediate rollout of Actua Soccer Online Manager and Asterix, Runarix in Europe on all Interactive TV platforms, including OpenTV, Mediahighway, and PowerTV; all second- and third-generation WAP and HDML mobile devices; and embedded systems like public terminals and in-flight entertainment systems.
