Infogrames has announced its upcoming air-combat simulation, B-17 Gunner: Air War Over Germany. The game is set during World War II, and it will let players control six gun positions in the famous B-17 bomber to fend off attacks by enemy fighters. It will include 25 missions--the number of missions flown by American crews during the war before being rotated home--and 10 possible playing positions, including nine machine gun positions and one bomb-sight position. In addition, five types of realistic Luftwaffe enemy aircraft will be featured in the game.

The game is being endorsed by the 390th Bombardment Group, a veteran's group made up of members of one of the most decorated US squadrons from World War II. "The 390th Memorial Museum Foundation is proud to support WizardWorks' game and keep alive the legacy and sacrifice of those who answered our country's call, and especially those who paid the ultimate price," a spokesperson for the 390th said.

For more information, visit the official WizardWorks Web site. B-17 Gunner: Air War Over Germany is in development at Sunstorm Interactive, and it is scheduled for release on May 11 for an approximate retail price of $19.99.
