As part of D23 this weekend, Lucasfilm shared new details on Indiana Jones 5, which is expected to be Harrison Ford's final go-around as the legendary archaeologist-adventurer.

Footage of the film was shown during a showcase at D23, but it wasn't published online--at least not yet. The new film, which doesn't have a title yet, will be the first since Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull some 14 years ago in 2008. Ford is now 80 years old.

In addition to Ford, the movie stars Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Toby Jones, Boyd Holbrook, and Antonio Banderas.

Ford, co-star Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and director James Mangold took to the stage to discuss the long-awaited action-adventure movie. It's the first entry in the entire series without Steven Spielberg as its director, though he is involved with the film as a producer.

"Thank you for making these films such an incredible experience for all of us," Ford said, as reported by Variety. "I'm very proud to say to say that this one is fantastic." The actor also praised Waller-Bridge, and she reciprocated, saying, "I had the time of my life making this movie."

As for Ford, he went on to say that the Indiana Jones series is known for its "fantasy and mystery elements," and also for its "heart." He added: "We have a really great story to tell, as well as a movie that will kick your ass."

Also during the event, Ford alluded to how Indiana Jones 5 may be his final appearance in the series. "This is it. I will not fall down for you again. But thank you so much," he said.

Indiana Jones 5 will be released in June 2023. For more from D23, check out GameSpot's gallery above that runs through all the big Marvel and Star Wars announcements from the big show. You can also learn more about D23 through the links below.
