A new mod for Grand Theft Auto V is coming soon that will crank up the graphics and more.

The GTA 5 Redux mod, created by Josh Romito, will debut on September 16. The release date was revealed in a new trailer for the mod, which shows off its incredible visuals and other improvements (via Eurogamer).

Romito originally planned to launch Redux sooner, but his home network and computer were hacked recently, compromising the mod. Thankfully, Romito had backups, though "some data" was lost, he explained in a blog post.

A lot of Redux's improvements focus on small details including altered blood effects, leaves falling from trees more consistently, and "individually crafted direct light for each and every body of water." These small details make a big difference, as you can see in the video above, but the modders have also added more prominent features like 4K textures, new weather effects, and enhanced lighting.

This isn't the first graphic-enhancing mod we've seen for Grand Theft Auto V. Last year, modder Martin Bergman described his Toddyhancer mod as a "work in progress" that utilizes a bunch of tools to implement new visual effects. It includes ReShade, a generic post-processing injector that's also used in GTA 5 Redux.

GTA 5 Redux is of course only going to be available on PC. As always, be careful when downloading files from the internet.
