In Halo 5's Campaign, You'll Always Have Three Companions

I dig this idea, but if it isn't split-screen co-op I aint down with it. If they do this right, and the rest of the game holds up, might finally be enough to make me buy an Xbone

I kind of like this, notthing what worse then playing coop with a friend and us both being masterchief.

I like this changed, and I'm not worried. When H2 came out, everyone griped about hating on the Arbiter, now with him in H5 or at least making a cameo the fans seem satisfied as a 'hooray it's the Arbiter!' especially after he had some time in H3 to show his stuff sort of speak even though he was just AI controlled for all of it. Blue Team I've often wanted to see them, being an avid reader of the Halo novels, so it'll be nice to see them in action, and it'll be great to be at the top of a team. I find not many games do that because of the complications inherit in it, but when done right it can really work out and make a cool 'comrade' like feeling between you and your squadmates. I liked H4 because of the character development in it, as I feel Halo have moved beyond simple video game stories and become that bit better. So I'm not incredibly worried because now 343 can try new stuff but they've also learned from any mistakes they did make in H4 (it being their first time and all)

Xbox lineup can sink ps4 this year and these ponies, media included are running scared. As much as they try to down play the greatness of xbox one they cant fool people from seeing the truth. Ps4 says its great, well show me dont tell me. Xbox is showing us great games so why isnt ps4. At this point PS4 is nothing but all talk and its time to put up or shut up. If you don't want to read the books I at least implore you to listen to the audio book about Halo: The Fall of Reach. It explains a lot about Blue Team. It's even on YouTube for free so it's not like you have anything to loss.

So excited! Been asking for a squad that actually plays a role in the plot since Halo 2 and the ability to issue commands since H1. H3 did a good job having the different playable characters, but stopped short of doing it right. H5 is finally the game true Halo supporters deserve. I only hope the campaign pushes upwards of 15 hours at least.

First people complain Halo is outdated and needs to change, now once we start seeing change everyone complains that they have compromised the game play. You just cant please anyone these days. Its funny that based on the beta everyone seems to think they have seen everything the MP has to offer. I think ill atleast give the game a fair shake before I judge. Halo deserves atleast that much.

I hope this means the campaign is much longer than the other games...I still feel salty and always will how the first game is still vastly more fun than the other stories. They just did it perfectly it didn't need any fluff like these others have and fail to deliver when it comes to an amazing mp experience...halo 4 rather killed it for me.

Uh wow I don't know how to feel about this really. Sounds like they just turned Halo into Gears of War don't know if that's good or bad.

Halo was one of my favorite franchises out there but 343 did a massive change to gameplay. They made it more modern and fast paced like CoD. I have played the beta and I liked it but it isn't the old good halo anymore. Before one week I sold my xbox and bought a ps4. Halo was the only reason to get an xbox but I was expecting something like the old halo games. And I think the story of the old trilogy was way better than the story halo 4 start.

Halo got me into gaming, I love all of them (yes even Halo 4).

But squads in the campaign? I want to be the Chief, not be the leader of some crew. This, in addition to Agent Locke's bad acting in Nightfall, makes me seriously worried about Halo 5.

They better explain the backstory to these characters. I've played all the games and know the GAME story by heart. Im gonna hate if I play from Halo 4 to 5 and have no idea who these people are. "Read the books" "HELL NO!" The story needs to be AT LEAST explained in the game. I hope it doesnt just HOP us into the story expecting people to know blue team already.

Seriously?!?! That is so pathetically lame. Wow Halo has gone downhill.

Hmm. I'm not going to pass judgement on it just yet. It could be awesome, it could be lame, it remains to be seen. I always thought of Master Chief as a lone wolf, and the story sort of builds that up for you thematically. Oh well, here's to hoping it's better than Halo 4.
