IL-2 Sturmovik: The Forgotten Battles details

Ubi Soft has today released further details on IL-2 Sturmovik: The Forgotten Battles, the first expansion pack for the award-winning IL-2 Sturmovik air combat simulation. The original game was released in November 2001, and although the expansion was announced in May 2002, very little information about it has been released until now.

The Forgotten Battles expansion will add 20 new single-player missions, 10 cooperative multiplayer missions, 12 new AI aircraft, and 27 flyable aircraft to the original game when it is released this winter. The list of new aircraft included in the expansion is as follows:

Other new features in the expansion include three new maps suitable for solo or multiplayer games, a ranking and award system for Finnish and Hungarian pilots, improved flight dynamics, more realistic AI, search lights, barrage balloons, and four new large ships including the Russian battleship Marat, Russian cruisers Aurora and Kirov, and German cruiser Niobe.
