Ubi Soft Entertainment has announced IL-2 Sturmovik: The Forgotten Battles, its upcoming add-on to the award-winning World War II flight combat game IL-2 Sturmovik. The expansion will contain two new maps for Finland and Hungary, more than 20 new single-player missions, and 10 new cooperative multiplayer missions. It will also include a number of new playable and computer-controlled Russian, German, and British aircraft.
"The overwhelming success of IL-2 Sturmovik has proved that there is still a market for great combat simulation titles," said Carl C. Norman, executive producer at Ubi Soft Entertainment. "This follow-up product ties into a greater strategy that we have created to ensure Ubi Soft's position as a driving force in the combat simulation genre for years to come."
We've posted some new screenshots in the gallery above that show off some of the new airplanes that will be featured in the expansion. IL-2 Sturmovik: The Forgotten Battles is scheduled for release this fall. We'll post more information about the expansion as it becomes available.
