iGames still in the game

Following premature rumors of its demise, the Savage publisher's PR rep says the company remains in business.

Following an early post from HomeLANfed, word began to spread that Savage publisher iGames was shuttering its doors. The closure would have made iGames one of the shortest-lived publishers in recent memory: Founded in 2002, the company only released two titles--S2's Savage and Idol Fx's Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi.

However, this afternoon, a publicity representative contacted GameSpot to assure that "iGames is not out of business." While he implied the company is undergoing some changes, the rep stressed "They are still fully supporting Savage and Nosferatu," he continued. HomeLAN was later e-mailed by iGames Publishing CEO Richard Bosch, who said "We have reorganized some of our top people, and are looking closely at our various enterprises, but are in no way closing for business."

Representatives of the other iGames--the American network of game centers--also contacted GameSpot to attest to its economic health. "We’re going strong," said a representative obviously alarmed by the apparent confusion.
