Icewind Dale: Heart of Winter Announced

Black Isle Studios has announced an expansion pack for its successful role-playing game Icewind Dale. The expansion is titled Icewind Dale: Heart of Winter, and it will add a new storyline and improved features to the dungeon-crawl game. It will contain new monsters, spells, and playable areas, as well as increase the screen resolution to 800 x 600. Several new magic items will also be featured, including The Ring of the Will-o-Wisp, which enables the character to attack enemies with electricity, and a cursed suit of armor called the Vexed Armor.

Icewind Dale: Heart of Winter will require the original Icewind Dale game to run. More information on the expansion can be found at the official Interplay web site. Black Isle has not yet announced a release date for the expansion pack.
