Hyper Scape Open Beta Is Live - How To Download It
All PC players now have a chance to try out Ubisoft's new sci-fi battle royale game.
Ubisoft devoted a portion of Sunday's Ubisoft Forward presentation to talking about its new sci-fi battle royal shooter, Hyper Scape. While the company did not yet confirm a release date, it did announce that it is opening up its ongoing Hyper Scape beta.
The Hyper Scape beta is now open to all players on PC. You can download and jump into the beta right now for free from Ubisoft's Uplay store or Uplay client. You can register and then download it immediately to begin playing. The minimum system requirements are fairly modest, and you'll need only 20 GB of hard drive space to install it. You can check out both the required and recommended specs below.
In addition to announcing the open beta, Ubisoft released a new trailer for Hyper Scape that shares more details on the game's world; you can check that out above. Coinciding with the launch of the open beta, Ubisoft has introduced a new weapon to the game: the Harpy, an SMG that the publisher says "excels in close-to-mid-quarters combat." A new hack, the Shockwave, is also now available in the game. This one launches an AOE blast that can knock other players away.
The Hyper Scape is waiting.

The Hyper Scape open beta includes four modes: squad and solo versions of the signature Crown Rush battle royale mode, as well as two limited-time modes, Hack Runner Squad and Turbo Mode Squad. An in-game shop is also available; it sells cosmetic items that you can purchase with Bitcrowns you've accrued. You can read more about the Hyper Scape open beta on Ubisoft's website.
Complaints from Oceania players have already been addressed, with a new data center being added in Australia. Ubisoft says you won't need to do anything to access this, but it will hopefully alleviate the problems those in the region have been experiencing.
We’ve heard the feedback from our Oceania players loud and clear- we have added a new data center in Australia. Server is up now, and games are already running. No need to do anything extra on your side, besides go for the Crown!

Ubisoft officially unveiled Hyper Scape earlier this month, and since then it has been hosting a closed beta for the game on PC. To gain access to this closed test, players first needed to link their Ubisoft and Twitch accounts and then had to watch a Hyper Scape stream that had drops enabled. Now, however, all PC players will have a chance to try out the upcoming battle royale game.
Although the game hasn't officially launched yet, Ubisoft has recently released an update for Hyper Scape that nerfed a handful of hacks and weapons. Ubisoft says it will continue to monitor these and make additional adjustments accordingly.
Hyper Scape does not yet have a final release date, but the game is slated to launch for PC as well as PS4 and Xbox One this summer. In the meantime, you can read our Hyper Scape impressions and check out some gameplay footage to get a better feel for the new sci-fi shooter.
Ubisoft Forward showcased several games besides Hyper Scape, but as announced just before the show, Ubisoft did not address ongoing abuse allegations.
