Following last week's first teaser image for the upcoming time-loop action movie Boss Level, the first trailer has been released. The movie stars Frank Grillo, who is best known for his role in the Purge series, and it hits Hulu in March.

Grillo plays a former special forces agent who finds himself in a loop in which he is killed by a variety of heavily armed assassins every single day, on repeat. An evil colonel played by Mel Gibson seems to be behind this plan, so Grillo sets about trying to find out why. While the repeating-day gimmick has been used many times over the years, the trailer suggests Boss Level has put a ridiculously violent and over-the-top spin on the story. Check it out below.

Boss Level is directed and co-written by Joe Carnahan, who previously helmed The A-Team, The Grey, and Smoking Aces. It also stars Naomi Watts (Twin Peaks), Michelle Yeoh (Star Trek Discovery), and Annabelle Wallis (The Mummy). It will be released on Hulu on March 5.

The film was shot back in 2018, and was initially scheduled for a theatrical release in August 2019, but was dropped by its distributor Entertainment Studios Inc. Hulu picked it up in November last year for a reported eight-figure sum, and unlike Disney Plus, this movie is included in the price of Hulu.

Grillo is also known for portraying Crossbones in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While the character was killed off in 2016's Captain America: Civil War, Grillo recently revealed that he will return to the role in the upcoming animated Disney+ Marvel show What If?

As for the Purge series, the fifth movie arrives in July, having been delayed from last summer. It's titled The Forever Purge, and is directed by Everardo Gout. Creator James DeMonaco has previously hinted that this could be the last film in the franchise.
