The Vive Consumer Edition comes with the headset, two wireless controllers, two "base stations," a link box (to connect to your PC), and a pair of Vive earbuds. It also includes two games--Job Simulator and Fantastic Contraption--as well as Google's Tilt Brush app.

You also need a capable gaming rig; something in the $1,000 range, according to GameSpot sister site CNET. Check out the GameSpot's video above for a more detailed overview.

GameSpot tried HTC Vive and reported that the headset demonstrates the future of virtual reality better than any other device. Sony's PlayStation 4 virtual reality device PlayStation VR also releases this year, but the company has yet to announce pricing or other specific launch details for it.
