How You Can Play Guitar Hero Live This Weekend

Activision's new Guitar Hero Live doesn't launch until October, but you can play the music game this coming weekend. Retailer Best Buy has announced that, this weekend only, it will have the game available to play at more than 120 stores across the United States.

The game will be playable at the times listed below.

  • Friday, July 24: 3-8 PM
  • Saturday, July 25: 10 AM-5PM

Visit this special page to find a participating store near you. Best Buy will also have new footage of the upcoming Adam Sandler video game movie Pixels on display. The movie hits theaters on July 24.

The Guitar Hero Live release date is set for October 20 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and mobile devices. The game's full soundtrack has not been announced yet, but Activision recently confirmed ten additional songs.

Guitar Hero Live is not backwards compatible with existing instruments. A package that comes with the game and one guitar will cost $100. You can also buy a bundle featuring the game and two guitars for $150.
