How To Respec Mastery And Skill Points In Last Epoch

There are dozens of different skill trees you can access in Last Epoch, but you're not stuck with the choices you make. No matter what class you're using or how far along you are in the game, you're able to fully respec both your Mastery and Skill Points in Last Epoch. The guide below shows exactly how you can respec both kinds of skills and the cost to do so.

Respec Mastery Skills in Last Epoch

First up, we have the Mastery Points, which are also called Passives in Last Epoch. These are the skills you unlock after reaching a new level and are specific to your class. These skills apply to your class as a whole and not individual skills you use to attack enemies, buff your character, etc. You can look at the Mastery Points tree by going to the "Passives" menu in Last Epoch.

Here, you can see all of your class' Passives, both for your class in general and the Mastery you've chosen. If you're still early on in Last Epoch, don't worry about your class Mastery yet, as you don't make that decision until later. As for your basic Passives, you are completely free to respec those at any time by visiting a specific NPC in Last Epoch. This NPC has a purple brain icon over their head on the map and the earliest one you can find is located in the Keeper's Camp region right near the fast-travel waypoint.

By talking to the NPC, you can view your Passives menu and click on any skill you've previously purchased. When you click on a skill, a box appears on the screen that tells you how much Gold it costs to respec that specific skill. For example, it cost me 50 Gold to respec the first Passive in the Mage skill tree, as you can see below.

Every Passive requires a different amount of Gold to respec, so always be sure you're reading to see how much Gold is required every time you go to respec. You can find one of the NPCs to respec your Mastery Points in several different regions across Last Epoch.

Respec Skill Points in Last Epoch

As for your Skill Points, those are respecced in an entirely different way from Mastery Points. All you need to do respec Skill Points is open up your Skills & Specializations menu (S on keyboard) and click on any skill you've specialized. This brings you to that skill's specialization tree, where you can select the "Respec" button in the top-right of the screen.

From here, you're able to remove points from a specialized skill tree or despecialize the skill altogether. If you choose to remove points from a skill tree, then the level of that specialized skill will be reduced by however many points you remove. You can then add more points to the specialized skill to raise its level back up again.

If you choose to despecialize the skill, then you can pick a new skill to specialize. You can choose any skill you currently have unlocked to specialize and once you've picked a new one, you're able to access its skill tree and spend any available points you have. There is no Gold cost associated with respeccing Skill Points in Last Epoch, so feel free to experiment with different skills as you progress.
