How Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker's Script Leaked On Ebay

Who leaked the latest Star Wars script?

There are few film franchises more protective of its secrets than Star Wars. Actor Mark Hamill has previously spoken about the extreme levels of security that exist for even the series' biggest stars when they are handed the scripts to a new movie. So it will be a surprise for many fans to learn that the screenplay for the upcoming Episode 9: The Rise of Skywalker ended up on Ebay.

The news comes straight from JJ Abrams, the film's director. Abrams appeared on Good Morning America to introduce the first Rise of Skywalker clip, and revealed that a somewhat careless member of the cast was ultimately responsible for the script getting put up for sale on the famous auction site.

"One of our actors--I'm not gonna say which one, I want to, but I won't--left it under their bed and it was found by someone who was cleaning their place and it was given to someone who then went to sell it on Ebay," he said.

Disney was able to secure the script from the eBay seller before it sold, Abrams confirmed.

Abrams then went on confirm that, despite this temporary hitch, the information flow on this latest movie was as tight as previous films. "The security is insane," he said. "They had only a handful of scripts and they were printed on crazy, uncopyable paper."

Now that The Rise of Skywalker is only few weeks away, there's been quite a bit of recent promotional material. Last week, these stylish character posters were released, which followed a new batch of imagery. You can also watch the latest trailer here.
