Hothead Games today announced development of a game based on late author Douglas Adams' classic sci-fi comedy novel The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Unfortunately, no information was provided concerning price, release date, or platforms. Gamers interested in the title can check out a newly launched website titled The New Hitchhiker's Guide and follow its development.

Besides several mobile titles, Hothead's Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy game will be the first based on the novel since the eponymous text-based adventure from the mid-1980s. From 1984 to 1986, the title was released on a variety of platforms, including the PC, Apple II, Macintosh, and Commodore 64.
