This year's critically acclaimed horror film Don't Breathe already has a sequel in the works. While Don't Breathe 2 has not been confirmed by production studio Ghost House Pictures, director Fede Alvarez revealed to ComingSoon.net that he's working on the sequel.

The horror sequel was brought up by co-writer Rodo Sayagues (Evil Dead) while Alvarez talked about another one of his upcoming films, The Girl in the Spider's Web, which also hasn't been confirmed by its respective studio. "There's also going to be more Don't Breathe," Sayagues said, to which Alvarez replied that they've "just started" but "know exactly where it goes."

"But we won't tell you right now," Alvarez continued. "But there will be more Don't Breathe for sure."

Don't Breathe was made on a budget of $9.9 million and made $152.1 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo, so the fact that a sequel is in the works isn't surprising. Don't Breathe 2 would bring back Stephan Lang's blind character, but nothing else is known. We'll keep you updated as more is revealed.

In addition to Lang, Don't Breathe stars Jane Levy (Evil Dead), Dylan Minnette (Goosebumps), and Daniel Zovatto (It Follows). Helmsman Alvarez's previous work includes directing 2013's Evil Dead and an episode of From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series.

I did enjoy this movie even though the kid robbers were horribly written.. would've been nice to see some character development before the movie dove into the action (or breaking into the house) - These kids are more blind than the actual blind guy when it comes to robbing someone blind.

Were they going to search every part of the house until they found the $ before he woke up (even after being gassed to deeper sleep? SERIOUSLY? that was their illiterate plan?

Either way, I wanted the old man to win, even though I found out his other agenda.. it felt like all he wanted was justice in his own demented mind it felt right.. (sort of)

i'm not sure how a sequel would even work, if you've watched the movie,

The bad guy (if that's what you want to call him) lives at the end.. but the main protagonist has run away with his money to another state?

Bring on the sequel nevertheless.. This could be interesting!

I love horror movies, but the preview for this one looked stupid so I have no interest in seeing it.

The fact that the main character was also in The Monkey's Paw didn't help much, either. His character in that movie was a badass, but he doesn't strike me as the type of person who would play the monster in a horror film.

If they do make a 2nd, don't milk the franchise link Saw.

First one was good, and shot on a low budget. The rest were crap, much like final destination and the likes..

It was an alright film. The trailer sold me, but the movie was a mix of silliness, predictable acts and lame chase scenes.

The twist in the movie was interesting. But it was ruined again by more questionable directions.

It's a movie I managed to enjoy, but I wouldn't watch it again. Nor would've predicted it'll have a sequel.
