Last week, THQ trumpeted Homefront's day-one sales, announcing it had sold 375,000 on its launch day. And yesterday, the publisher said the game invaded 1 million homes worldwide. Now, Microsoft has revealed that going platinum pushed Homefront into Xbox Live's top 10.

According to Xbox Live Programming Director Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb, the near-future shooter debuted at number six on Xbox Live's most-played chart. The list is based on total global unique users and was tracked since March 14, a day before the game was released. For the full breakdown, check out Major Nelson's blog.

THQ's plans for Homefront won't end with the initial product. The company plans to support the game with a pipeline of downloadable content that will debut on the Xbox 360. A sequel for the game is also already in the preplanning stages.
