Hill Project announced

New developer Gaming Side has released the first information on its upcoming 3D shooter.

New French developer Gaming Side has updated its official Web site with information on the company's first game. Hill Project is a RenderWare-powered 3D shooter in which players will be challenged to get from Earth to the moon while dealing with hordes of drones, gigantic bosses, asteroid fields, and the like. Intriguingly, Gaming Side says that the game will feature an RPG-like equipment and leveling system, although no specific details are available at this time.

The game's futuristic plot revolves around a virus that appeared on Earth a few hundred years ago, forcing humankind to live in space and on the moon while the planet Earth itself is effectively in quarantine. Scientists have apparently found a way to immunize workers so they can return to Earth to obtain raw materials that can't be extracted on the moon, but an unfortunate side effect of the vaccination is that it reduces the life expectancy of anyone using it to just a few weeks.

No publisher or release date for Hill Project has been announced at this time, and although the game is currently in development only for the PC, we're told that PS2 and Xbox versions are a distinct possibility. We'll bring you more information on the game as soon as it becomes available.
