BioWare has announced that it will release high-resolution images of Dragon Age: Inquisition characters leading up to the game's launch this fall in an effort to support fan artists.

To start things off, the developer released an image of sorceress Morrigan, who won't be a party member in the role-playing game, but will still play a significant role, BioWare has said. Morrigan is shown here in her ball gown.

The purpose of releasing the character models, BioWare's Jessica Merizan said, is so that fan artists, cosplayers, illustrators, painters, writers, and even cake decorators can have access to highly detailed and descriptive designs to form their creations from.

Merizan is a BioWare community manager and a noted cosplayer who appears as various industry events like PAX dressed as characters from BioWare's stable of franchises.

Dragon Age: Inquisition launches during fall 2014 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC. The game was originally expected to release last fall. For more, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.
