Here's When the Xbox One $50 Price Cut Ends

The Xbox One's $50 price cut will come to an end on April 30, it has been confirmed. Fine-print on Xbox.com reveals the end-date. The price cut, which brings the base Xbox One model down to $300 which is $50 below the starting price of the PlayStation 4, went into effect on March 20.

The price cut, which applies to all Xbox One models and bundles, had been described from the start as temporary.

Microsoft has been promoting the offer quite significantly, and a TV trailer touting the deal was also released. We will have a better idea about what impact the price cut had on system sales when the NPD Group's reports for March and April come in during April and May, respectively.

The new Xbox One TV ad campaign touts the system as the only console that has every one of 2015's top 10 best-selling games and backwards compatibility support.

Sony's PS4 is the worldwide sales leader, with close to 36 million systems sold as of January 2016. The company may announce a new, more-powerful PS4 before October this year, while Microsoft has also discussed releasing new hardware.
