Here's When Ark: Survival Evolved Comes to Xbox One and What It Comes With
PC exclusive no longer.
An in-development version of dinosaur game Ark: Survival Evolved will launch on Xbox One on December 16, developer Studio Wildcard has announced. It'll cost $35, which is $5 more than the game goes for on PC.
Studio co-founder and creative director Jess Rapczak says in a new interview that the Xbox One version--released though the Xbox Game Preview program--has "no compromises" when compared to the PC edition. It'll feature all of the content released to date fo the PC version--and there's been a lot.
In addition, Xbox One players are getting a range of "Founder's content," including skins and more.
"Gamers want new experiences on their consoles, and we feel that Ark, which is one of the few dinosaur games on the market, and one of the only, if not the only true multiplayer survival games on console, will bring that fresh gaming experience that helps define this generation," he told IGN.
The Xbox One version of Ark won't get new updates on the "insane pace" of the PC version, but Studio Wildcard's plan is to "keep content parity between the Xbox Game Preview and PC versions of the game. "
When Ark leaves Xbox Game Preview and launches in full next summer, it will cost more than $35, though a final price point was not announced. Whatever the case, people who bought the Xbox One Preview version will not need to re-buy the game.
Ark is also coming to PlayStation 4, though not until next summer.
