The $250 Halo 5: Guardians Limited Collector's Edition, the most expensive premium version of the Xbox One game, is the only one not to come with a physical disc. Some fans aren't happy about this. They voiced their concerns directly to 343 Industries at Comic-Con last week, and were told that a solution was in the works. Now, 343 has announced that solution--though there are still some lingering questions about it.

"Today, we're able to confirm that for those who would like a physical disc, we'll provide an option for fans to exchange their digital copy for a physical copy at no additional cost," 343 said on Halo Waypoint.

It remains to be seen how long people who buy the Halo 5 LCE and want a physical disc will have to wait until the disc arrives. We also don't know exactly how that shipping process will work.

Because the Halo 5 LCE arrives a week before Halo 5's public launch, that would theoretically give Microsoft enough time to ensure the disc arrives in time. It's also possible that you'll have to enter your unused code on a site to get a physical disc. The wording of Microsoft's statement, specifically the word "exchange," suggests that this will be the case, though this is unconfirmed for now.

Asked about these points, a Microsoft representative told GameSpot, "We'll provide more details on the process later in the summer."

The Halo 5 release date is locked in for October 27. The LCE, however, arrives October 20 (but the game itself doesn't unlock unlock until October 27) and comes with everything you see above. For more on the two other Halo 5 premium bundles, check out this story.
