Helldivers 2 Players Have Finally Unlocked The Airburst Rocket Launcher

Thousands of Helldiver 2 players worked together to liberate Penta and unlock the Airburst Rocket Launcher.

Comments

Recently, Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead Game Studios gave its playerbase a major choice: Liberate the planet Penta and unlock the Airburst Rocket Launcher, or opt to save Choohe instead to get Anti-Tank Mines. The community has spoken, choosing to save Penta to unlock the carpet-bombing Airburst stratagem for the armory of Super Earth.

In a post on X/Twitter, the Helldivers 2 account noted that the fallen victims of Choohe will receive "condolence cards and potato baskets" as tokens of remembrance. Despite its name, some players have opined that the weapon works better if you fire it at swarms of grounded targets, especially from higher ground. However, you definitely shouldn't use it up close, or if any allies are around, as you'll almost certainly lead to at least one player death. As any Helldivers 2 fan well knows, friendly fire is definitely a hazard.

Now Playing: Helldivers 2 Update Biggest Changes

Helldivers 2 continues to be one of the most popular games on Steam, consistently ranking in the top 10 of Steamcharts with hundreds of thousands of concurrent players. In a recent social media Q&A, Arrowhead said that the game may include crossovers with other games and media franchises in the future, but only if they "make sense." Community manager Twinbeard specifically said that the game will specifically not feature Mickey Mouse or lightsabers from Star Wars, so if you were holding out hope for those, sorry for the bad news.
