Hearthstone Reaches 40 Million Players, Up 10 Million
Blizzard's free-to-play game continues to soar.
During Activision's Investor Day presentation today, the company announced that its free-to-play PC and mobile game Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft has reached 40 million players. That's up from 30 million, a figure that was announced in May.

There is no word on how many of those 40 million players have spent money on Hearthstone. But the game is already a big success for Activision; it is estimated to generate $20 million per month from microtransactions.
