Shortly after the debut of The Last of Us on HBO, Naughty Dog Info on Twitter reported that both voice actors Misty Lee and Phillip Kovats are returning to voice the female and male clickers, respectively, for the show. The voice actors individually confirmed this news on the social media site as well.

"Misty and I had an absolute blast working with Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin reprising these characters and helping them come alive, playing against the amazing actors on screen," tweeted Kovats.

Clickers are called as such due to the clicking noise their teeth make and rely on faint echolocation to hunt and attack their prey. They can be heard from a long distance and are the third type of infected monsters in the game you'll, following runners and stalkers. We haven't seen them in the show just yet, but in the full trailer, we see they're identical to their design in the game.

Their faces are completely skewed and covered by enormous fungal growth that has developed from their brains, often only leaving behind a mouth of jagged teeth. These fungal plates have adapted to keep the host alive and able to spread. In the game, a direct shot to the face with a powerful weapon such as a revolver will only break off a chunk of the mold, leaving the clicker's brain unharmed, and it's where Ellie's switchblade comes into play.

Obviously, Lee and Kovats aren't the only actors returning to reprise their roles as Merle Dandridge is once again Firefly queen herself, Marlene. Jeffrey Pierce who voiced Tommy in the game, played by Gabriel Luna in the HBO show, plays Firefly Perry this time around.

The Last of Us premiered Sunday and is HBO's second-highest debut in 10 years, right under House of the Dragon with 4.7 million viewers and is already performing well with critics and fans. You can read about the behind-the-scenes of how they shot one of the story's most powerful's death scene as well as what could have been with that cold open.
