Harry Potter actor Rupert Grint, who played Ron Weasley in the blockbuster magical series, has said working on the films over the 10 years felt "quite suffocating" at times, but overall it was a great experience.

Speaking to Dax Shepard on his podcast, Grint said the filming schedule and duration of the timeline--10 years for all the films--eventually took a toll on him. But overall, working on the movie sets with his film family was a good experience for him.

"There was a time where it felt quite suffocating, because it was heavy going, because it was every day for 10 years in the end," Grint said (via ComicBook). "It was a great experience. Such a nice kind of family atmosphere. It was always the same crew we kind of grew up with, so it was a great place to be. But sometimes it definitely felt like, 'I want to do something else. See what else is out there.'"

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone debuted in 2001--which is now 20 years ago!--with the final entry, The Deathly Hallows Part II releasing 10 years later in 2011. Unlike The Lord of the Rings, the films were not made back-to-back, except for The Deathly Hallows, which was split into two films.

After Harry Potter, Grint went on to appear in numerous other film and TV projects. Most recently, he stars on M Night. Shyamalan's creepy series Servant.

The Harry Potter series may continue with a live-action TV series. A new open-world Harry Potter video game is also in the works for 2022.
