Electronic Arts has announced the shipment of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone for the Sony PlayStation and the Nintendo Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Color. All three games will arrive at retailers nationwide on November 16, which will coincide with the release of the Warner Bros. film. In the PlayStation game, players assume the role of Harry Potter as he arrives at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The game draws inspiration from the book's storyline and has levels that feature a high-speed 3D ride through Gringotta, Quidditch matches, and a flying broomstick chase to retrieve the Remembrall. On the Game Boy Advance, Harry Potter will have to complete a year in the Hogwarts school. In each term, players will have to complete specific objectives, such as collecting and mixing potions with Professor Snape or piloting a flying broom through the Forbidden Forest.

Electronic Arts will extend its Harry Potter franchise to current generation consoles in 2002. Specific information regarding those games is unavailable at this time.
