Han Solo Movie Is Now Casting Its Mysterious Female Lead - Report

Tessa Thompson, Naomi Scott, and Zoe Kravitz reportedly auditioned for the role this week

Who will star alongside Alden Ehrenreich in the upcoming Han Solo Star Wars movie? According to Variety, at least three actresses are testing for the film's female lead.

Sources told the site that Tessa Thompson (Selma, Creed), Naomi Scott (Power Rangers), and Zoe Kravitz (Mad Max: Fury Road) tried out for the role in London this week.

Exactly what role these actresses are testing for is unknown. According to the report, directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller (22 Jump Street, The Lego Movie) are also looking for someone to play Lando Calrissian.

"This would mark the second round of tests; a previous round took place earlier this summer. While it seems like a decision is on the horizon, sources it could still be a couple weeks till one is made," Variety reported.

Donald Glover has been rumored for the role of Calrissian. Billy Dee Williams played the character in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

Chewbacca is also set to make an appearance in the Han Solo movie, which is set for release on May 25, 2018.

On the more immediate horizon, Star Wars Rogue One comes out this December. Disney CEO Bob Iger recently spoke up to say he doesn't expect the movie to make as much money as The Force Awakens did.
