Microsoft has announced that Bungie's first-person shooter Halo: Combat Evolved has sold more than 1 million units in the United States and Canada. "We are thrilled that Halo: Combat Evolved has won over Xbox gamers, with sales hitting 1 million units at an amazing pace," said Ed Fries, vice president of Xbox Game Content at Microsoft. "There's nothing like it anywhere else. It's only on the Xbox. If you haven't played Halo: Combat Evolved, you're missing out on the best video game experience available."

In Halo, players assume the role of a cyborg soldier named Master Chief who must help Earth defense forces fend off an invasion by The Covenant, a race of aliens trying to obtain a mysterious artifact. For more on Halo, check out our full review.
