Microsoft Game Studios, Bungie Studios, and Gearbox Software have today announced the European release of Halo for the PC. The game boasts a number of new features over the original Xbox launch title, not the least of which is deathmatch support for up to 16 players.

"The Halo team at Gearbox is fired up to unleash Halo on PC gamers," said Randy Pitchford, president of Gearbox Software. "The entire crew at Gearbox can't wait for launch day to go online and play with our customers using all the unique maps, weapons and features that are exclusive to the Windows version of Halo."

To coincide with the launch of Halo, Microsoft and iGames plan to launch a worldwide Halo tournament next month. Prizes with an estimated value of $30,000 will be up for grabs in the competition, which is scheduled to reach its climax in January 2004.
