As part of Microsoft's announcements about the PC edition of Halo Infinite, the company also revealed that it is working with AMD to bring ray tracing to the game after launch.

"Ray tracing is one of our top development priorities post-launch and look forward to sharing more soon," developer 343 Industries said in a blog post.

Ray tracing is an advanced rendering system that is capable of delivering incredible-looking lighting. It's used in Forza Horizon 5's Foravista mode to offer stunning visuals. Microsoft's Gears 5 also supports ray tracing, as does Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, among other games.

343 said it is "working closely" with AMD to help deliver ray tracing for Halo Infinite. The blog post didn't mention if ray tracing will be featured in both the PC and console editions of Halo Infinite.

Ray tracing is not the only new feature coming to Halo Infinite after launch. 343 plans to add campaign co-op and Forge sometime in 2022, though no dates have been announced yet.

In other news, Microsoft partnered with AMD to create a limited-edition Halo Infinite GPU and announced many more details about the PC version of the game. Halo Infinite launches on December 8 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
