Halo Infinite Multiplayer Beta Launches For Xbox's 20th Anniversary Celebration
Following rumors that Microsoft had something special up its sleeve for the 20th anniversary, the Halo Infinite multiplayer has launched almost a month early.
The multiplayer beta for Halo Infinite has launched early, in advance of its planned campaign release next month. The early release was part of a treat for fans to accompany the Halo 20th Anniversary, which Microsoft celebrated today (November 15) with a special stream.
You can find the Halo Infinite multiplayer in the Xbox Store on PC and Xbox consoles, on Steam, or in the Recently Added section of Game Pass. As previously announced, the Halo Infinite multiplayer will be free. For more, check out how to install and play the Halo Infinite multiplayer beta.
The 20th anniversary stream also showed off expanded backward compatibility and our first look at the upcoming Halo TV show.
Rumors of an early launch had circulated over the weekend, with some fans and industry insiders speculating that Microsoft was planning something special for the stream. Those reports were conflicting, however, so it was far from a sure thing.
The campaign for Halo Infinite is coming on December 8, as already announced. That will tell the next chapter of Master Chief's story, which left off with Halo 5: Guardians in 2015.
