Known as Spartan Companies, these allow for up to 100 players to form a group to play with. The video above outlines what this allows for, but essentially it's a way to gather together with other like-minded players.
Companies have access to private forums through Halo Waypoint, where they can also view stats and profiles for others members of the group. Companies themselves also have profile pages that can be customized with banners, descriptions, mottos, and customizable emblems.
To incentivize players to join a Company--you can only be in one at a time--343 is giving away a free Req pack for joining or creating one. Note that to qualify for the freebie, your Company needs to be active and attract a total of at least four players.
The video goes on to show how you can open Req packs and customize your character from Halo Waypoint. This feature, along with Spartan Companies, is now live on the Waypoint website ahead of Halo 5's launch on October 27.
